HEALING CHRONIC STRESS AND/or DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA
WITH SOMATIC EXPERIENCING™ and neuro-affective relational model™
Neuro-Affective Relational Model™ (“NARM”) is a gentle, somatically based, psychotherapeutic approach for recovery from symptoms related to developmental trauma. Difficult childhood experiences can damage and disrupt healthy regulation within our nervous system. Often focus is placed on the events of the past, pushing through “resistance”, promoting emotional catharsis or painful physical discomfort. Alternatively, NARM works directly with your nervous system rather than dwelling on the story of personal life events. Through gentle, guided, one-on-one relational conversation, we focus on both your body sensations joined with present time cognitive thoughts while using healing resources in the here and now. NARM provides healing, increased calm and a restored sense of aliveness. Ultimately, a restored capacity for connection with oneself and others is achieved.
